ATELIER
FOR BYZANTINE PAINTING
Aim of the Atelier: a return to the old authentic traditions of
the Byzantine painting, especially to the Comnenian, post-Comnenian and
the Palaeologan, both on the level of materials, techniques and aesthetic
principles. The eventual aim is to train icon and mural painters and then
to enable them to produce work in their own personal style, but within
traditional parameters. Training programs in icon painting will be organised
to that effect.
